Bryan Feddern.
IS a Seattle based
UX/multi-disciplinary designer.
Bryan Feddern is a seasoned UX designer with over two decades of experience shaping digital experiences across mobile, web, and interactive platforms. As a Lead UX Designer at Tableau (a Salesforce company), he has played a central role in developing powerful workbook features including Tableau Agent, which helps users uncover insights and generate visualizations through natural language powered by generative AI; Viz Extensions, which open the door to custom visualizations within Tableau, both internal and open source; and Map Layers, which enable users to create rich, multi-layered geographic analyses. These features have significantly expanded the flexibility, interactivity, and storytelling potential of Tableau workbooks. His work on Viz Extensions was well received at both the 2024 and 2023 Tableau Conferences, highlighting his impact on the future of data visualization.
Before Tableau, Bryan led mobile UX efforts at Getty Images, where he created and headed the company’s first mobile team, launching an award-winning iOS app—one of the first built using Swift—and partnering with Apple to develop a Getty Images app for Apple TV. His leadership helped position Getty as a forward-thinking player in mobile and large-format visual experiences.
Prior to Getty, he was a key designer at UI Evolution, where he worked on early mobile applications for Disney and contributed to emerging technologies in facial recognition and voice interaction systems. This experience deepened his understanding of context-aware design and natural user interfaces, laying the groundwork for later work in AI-powered tools.
Earlier in his career, Bryan served as Creative Director at Blue Rooster, a Microsoft vendor, where he led original design work across websites, mobile apps, branding, environmental graphics, logos, and clothing. His leadership blended visual storytelling with strategic design thinking, setting the tone for multi-platform creative work that helped build and expand the company.
Bryan’s approach to UX is informed by backgrounds in psychology and culinary arts, which shape his collaborative, research-driven, and human-centered design philosophy. Outside of tech, he is an accomplished visual designer, illustrator, and photographer, with creative projects for Seattle’s music community, including album art and branding for Sub Pop recording artist Sera Cahoone, the Macefield Music Festival, and local restaurants. His fine art practice includes detailed bird paintings, reflecting a deep connection to nature, narrative, and handcrafted visual expression.
Bryan’s work reflects a commitment to building tools that are not only intuitive and impactful, but also thoughtfully aligned with emerging AI capabilities and cohesive user experiences across the business.
